Whitten Center is a SCDDSN facility for approximately 200 residents with developmental disabilities, located in Clinton, SC.
The facility is an integral part of the community, a large customer of businesses statewide, and is one of the largest employers
in the Clinton, SC area.  Whitten Center Parents’ Club raises funds to ensure that –above and beyond the–our special people have
the best quality of life possible.

Some of the most recent goals for this fundraiser include:

Tram repair –
Our residents truly enjoy rides around the campus on our open air tram and trolley. The cost for
upcoming repairs will be more than $15,000. How rewarding it will be to see the smiles on our loved ones’ faces
when they can, once again, enjoy this outdoor activity.

Special Olympics National Games –
We are pleased to announce that three of our residents were recently selected to participate in the Seattle games in June. As participants work to raise their own funds, the Parents’ Club is preparing to also assist in ensuring that these residents and caregivers get to attend this exciting event.

Community Fireworks –
In October, we plan to present our annual community fireworks display. This is an event where residents, family, friends, and all surrounding communities are invited to enjoy the show! this event is contracted out to make certain that all state, county, and city laws are followed and all proper permits are secured.
